ВСЁ, ЧТО ВЫ ХОТЕЛИ ЗНАТЬ ОБ АЛЕКЕ БОЛДУИНЕ, НО БОЯЛИСЬ СПРОСИТЬ
ET Online PETA Interview with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger
ET Online Host: Alec Baldwin has just joined Kim to chat with us! Send in your questions for both of them.
Alec Baldwin: This is our future honey. We are going to go online every night and hold a press conference.
Dontoo: Alec how did you get involved with PETA?
Alec Baldwin: Like a lot of men, I was dragged through the door by my wife. And once I got in the door, I learned a lot of things that were very meaningful.
Kim Basinger: He was actually dragged into a house that had 11 dogs, a wolf, cats, neon tetras, and anything else we dragged up from the yard.
Alec Baldwin: The only thing missing was a tortoise.
Kim Basinger: Our wolf just passed away so we now have nine dogs.
donndout: What do you hope to accomplish with this event?
Alec Baldwin: This night in particular is to let people know the great successes PETA has recently ended the Gillette boycott--that is new news--I'll let my wife tell you about that.
Kim Basinger: Ten years ago PETA launched a campaign against a 23 billion dollar mega company named Gillette because Gillette poisoned, maimed, and killed animals in needless tests. And tonight we officially end that campaign against Gillette because last week they officially ended this animal testing. This is just wonderful news. It's something PETA has been working on for ten years.
Dined: Are your family and friends involved with PETA?
Kim Basinger: My sister Ashley and my mother--she was the one who taught me. I really have to thank my mother for getting me involved period because she was an animal activist before that word was ever made up. There is one last thing I'd like to say on the Internet. I would like to encourage people to write PETA because they will be very surprised with what they learn. PETA can back it all with information tapes. They can really put their money where their mouth is and that is very important.
Alec Baldwin: One last thing I have been asked to add. The European Union has just banned the importation of furs that were obtained with leg-hold traps. This makes it illegal for EU nations to import furs to Canada, the US, and the former Soviet Union. It's the biggest win we have ever had. Perhaps the largest single blow to the fur industry.
